What do you get when you combine extreme skiing with BASE-jumping? A radical new hybrid sport called Ski-BASE. Prepare to be amazed as these extreme skiers strap on parachutes and huck themselves off a 600-foot cliff located in the High Sierras. As if just surviving a ski-BASE jump wasn’t enough, these guys are pulling off some unbelievable aerials including front flips, double back flips and all kinds of other sick tricks. The Eiger is located in the scenic country of Switzerland. This 13,000-foot monolith plays host to a group of extreme BASE jumpers who have flown halfway around the world to jump this magnificent BASE icon. With a reputation for death, this mountain is given full respect as each jumper is flown by helicopter to a wild spire of rock that reaches out from the sheer rock face creating a unique platform from which the jumpers will exit. Jumps include an assortment of wingsuit flights as well as a standard leap of faith by a group of four who all jump at the same time and open their parachutes within feet of a jagged ledge. The thrills don’t end until the last jumpers barely make it off the mountain as the weather turns for the worse. This is a compilation music video produced by Tony DiCola, a.k.a. (Donk). The video was created using many of the 154 BASE jumps that were made during an Aerial Extreme project in June of 2003. The weather in Norway during the project was amazing and the project produced some of the most spectacular big wall BASE jumps we’ve ever seen. Located deep in a Mexican rain forest, nestled high atop a majestic mountain slope, sleeps the eighth wonder of the world, Sótano de las Golandrinas, (Cave of the Swallows), which is a 1,400 foot subterranean cave. Come along on a true adventure that takes you on a journey with world-class BASE jumpers as they investigate this enormous cave. Their ultimate goal is to jump from the cave’s small 160 foot opening and freefall several seconds before opening their parachutes and landing safely on the cave floor. Stuntman Mark Lichtle of Aerial Extreme takes on the daunting task of becoming the first person ever to skydive while riding a jetski. From exit to landing the action never stops as Mark rides the ski out of the back of a plane for the ride of his life. Multiple cameras catch all the high-speed fun as Mark tries to keep the ski from going out of control. Only after Mark deploys his parachute do things go wrong. The jumpmasters helping hold the jetski stable lose control as Mark leaves the ski. With the situation in chaos the remaining jumpmaster is barely able to deploy the onboard jetski parachute. Travel to the pristine beauty of Norway’s unspoiled countryside. Marvel at the majestic granite peaks that line the Fjords that lead you to the quaint little town of Lysebotn. It is here that BASE jumpers from all around the world come to enjoy their extreme sport.

The 3,000-foot sheer walls provide the perfect launch point for these daring athletes. Jump with them as cameras are everywhere and catch all the action. Helmet cams, belly cams and hand-held cameras follow these daredevils all the way down. Travel to Norway and climb a 3,000 foot mountain that overlooks the beautiful turquoise waters that fill the 20 mile long fjord. Watch in amazement as a jumper rides a mountain bike off the 3,000 foot peak into freefall. Multiple cameras catch all the action including a helmet-mounted system that takes you right over the edge with the bike. 5-30 minutes of supporting material.

Jumpers from around the world are participating in a rare BASE treat. They are given complete access to one of Malaysia’s tallest and most distinctive buildings, the KL Tower, a building over 1,000 feet tall. The building becomes the jumpers’ playground for a day and Mark Lichtle of Aerial Extreme takes advantage of a unique opportunity. He notices a swimming pool atop the 300 foot hotel across the street from the KL Tower. Mark determines that it’s feasible to land his parachute in the pool after he jumps from the taller building. With cameras on both buildings and a helmet cam, Mark makes the world’s first intentional building-to-building BASE jump into a swimming pool. Watch one of the few women to ever challenge the Eiger and walk away a champion. Shelly Nackers, an experienced BASE jumper, has always dreamed about the Eiger but never thought it would happen. But when asked to join an international group of BASE jumpers on a quest to jump some of the best BASE sites in Europe, she couldn’t refuse. Follow Shelly as she practices jumping in Italy in preparation for this momentous occasion. Watch as Shelly is air lifted by helicopter to the Eiger’s ominous North wall where she first needs to make the dangerous transition from the helicopter to the exit site precariously perched 10,000 feet about the valley floor. 300 of the world’s best skydivers congregate in Chicago to attempt to break the existing record of 200 for the largest skydiving formation. Utilizing 12 aircraft flying in formation and a supplemental oxygen system, the jumpers make 23 exhausting attempts to break the record. After trimming the group’s size down to 246, and coming ever so close on previous jumps, they finally make the record on the 24^th attempt and hold it for over 7 seconds for a new world record. 1 hour of supporting material includes interviews and sound bites.

People enjoy the wonderful sport of skydiving, so why can’t their dogs? Take the plunge over beautiful Monterey Bay with Sarema and her pet dog, Bear. Bear has made a few skydives but this time a camera goes along to see just how much fun Bear has. From 13,000 feet Sarema exits the large Twin Otter aircraft with Bear strapped to her chest in a specially designed harness. Sarema flies on her back to help deflect the 120 mph blast of wind that is created as the pair fall back to earth. After a soft opening both Sarema and Bear enjoy a smooth parachute ride back to the drop zone where Bear is happy to have all four paws on the ground. 1 hour of supporting material includes interviews and sound bites.

BASE jumpers fly specially made wingsuits that propel them and the sport of BASE jumping into a new dimension. Jumpers take flight from some of the world’s tallest peaks and fly like birds. These suits reduce the regular 120 mile per hour fall rate of jumpers to under 60 mph while propelling them forward at speeds heading towards 100 mph. 30 minutes of supporting material.

This is the single biggest BASE event ever and it happens each year at the 876’ tall New River Bridge in West Virginia. Jumpers from around the world come to participate in this once a year event.
